Amy & Blair: the honeymoon

June 2086. Amy and Blair Jones are 19.

Honeymoon breakfast is served.

But the newlyweds are still sleeping.

The morning after the wedding, the guests woke early to enjoy their breakfast, but then their stay was up and they would have to go home. The hotel was reserved for the next two days for the newlyweds to begin their honeymoon.

Maria was on duty this morning and for the rest of the week. Stephanie was home, enjoying a well earned rest, and probably a bit more snuggling in bed, too.

Now Amy and Blair were awake, bright and bushy-tailed. What might we have in store for them today?

Day one: pick up a brochure in the hotel lobby and hop onto a tour bus to be tourists in Old Town Windenburg, Wisconsin.

They had a lazy and relaxing morning, while thinking—not saying—there isn't really a whole lot to do here. But Amy never minded a challenging and victorious game of chess, so at least that put her in good spirits.

That evening, they took a night tour of the Windenburg Monastery Ruins. The tickets were free with the payment of their bus ticket. As the sun set, the lights came up to illuminate the ruins and they were not disappointed that they stayed to check it out.

Again, it was beautiful, but a little dull after an hour or two. They would have to make their own fun here instead.

And they did!

They returned to the hotel and Amy ran a rose petal bath to freshen up for some more newlywed fun...

But she was positively beat. Blair took her to bed, to sleep, and they called it a night.

The morning of day two, they woke refreshed and ready to see what Copper Island had in store for them.

Blair said, "You match the flowers. But you're so much prettier than the flowers, because you're a girl and not a plant."

Amy said, "Aww, that's sweet."

Quickie foosball game while they waited for the tour bus to arrive.

There is a supposed lake monster here in the waters, but they didn't see anything.

The Copper Island Mines was just reopened for tourists this year.

They tried their hand at some woodworking.

And they checked out the minerals and ores in the rock gallery. "Look at the green one," Amy said.

"Yeah, and look at the yellow one."

They laid in the grass and watched the clouds until sunset.

They rented a couple of fishing poles from the village, but unfortunately, they didn't catch a damn thing. "We should fish more," Blair said. "Married dudes are supposed to fish, right?"

"Sure, honey," Amy said.

They lit a fire when the air grew chilly, and they dragged the long day into a starlit evening.

Before long, it was time to catch the last ferry off the island to get back to the hotel. In the morning, they had to head back home to start the next real adventure: married life!

notes: Just a quick peek at a little bit of the mines site in action, but I'm going to have Justin take his ladies to the mines for a full tour in the next post. He's excited to show off all of his hard work! ;)

I don't know if it seemed like it, but Amy and Blair did have much more fun on the island and mines than they did in Old Town and the ruins. As it comes default, there is absolutely NOTHING to do at the ruins when there isn't a rave going on, besides peeing or woohoo in the bushes, and I haven't done anything to modify that space yet like I have the other (Windenburg) lots. I will have to make that a next priority for the Historical Preservation team. Old Town is pretty lacking, too, although I do have some cute ideas for shops in the works, they're not finished yet. At least that gave the newlyweds lots of time to snuggle and gaze fondly at each other. That is what honeymoons are for, after all!

  1. I love your 'player notes'. As someone who has never played TS4 they are very educational!

  2. Aw, they're adorable. And you know, most 19-year-olds wouldn't be able to afford to go somewhere very far or very exotic, so it seems quite fitting that they had to make their own fun a lot of the time. It all looked very romantic, which is the main thing. <3

    1. True. And, to be honest, most 19 year-olds wouldn't be able to afford the kind of wedding they had, either. (The whole thing ended up being ~$4000 for the venue, catering, furnishings rental, and staff.) But I had George and Blossom help them out a bit because I really didn't want to skimp, and I also didn't want them to have to borrow or go into debt for it. Amy's parents don't have any money, but George and Blossom are pretty well set, so they could offer to help a bit.

  3. Such a cute couple! Glad to see they had an enjoyable honeymoon and looks like they are settling into married life smoothly despite being so young. Hope it continues on once they return home.

Love your dusk and twilight shots, so pretty! :)

  4. It did, it looked so romantic. Those ruins are really pretty and I adore the island where you built the mine. Those beaches are so scenic.

    1. The ruins are amazing to look at, but I'm really trying to think of what sims could do there that would make sense and be fun (besides the obvious raves that happen, I mean). I guess in real life, when you go to a ruin site, you just look at the ruins and that's that, lol! I guess I wish they got a moodlet from going there or something. A focused moodlet from being around history.
