September-October 2087
The Pendleton sisters are delightful young ladies, treasures to anyone who ever knew them. They are charming, generous, and friendly with everyone. But their closest friends and favorite bar buddies would have to be the Thompson siblings.
Who are, unfortunately, not as universally delightful. Each has their strong points, mind you. And as friends, they make a solid pack. Laney is a reliable, compassionate, good listener. Ingrid is daring and fun, up for anything at any time. Ian is very clever, and can hold his own in conversation about most any topic. Beyond friendship, though, these three are a hot hot mess. Jamie knows better than to mix friendship and romance. And Jessica would be wise to steer her efforts elsewhere.
So she invites him to walk with her out on the docks.
She snaps a picture, thinking what a sweet couple they would make.
"We should go out sometime. Dinner and a movie? Don't you think?"
"No, thanks," he says.
"No thanks? What?"
Ian explains, with the infinite wisdom of a young man who has more brains than sense, that he knows she is miles too good for him and he can't bear the pressure of her inevitable disappointment. He has nothing to offer a girlfriend, not even a date. He can't take her out to dinner, because he kind of has no money, or a job, or any prospects. Or plans. Only a boatload of student loan debt, and he wonders whether she wouldn't rather date someone a little more on her level?
"Well, uh, I guess when you put it that way," Jessica stammers. She has never been more embarrassed in her life.
Ian and his twin sister, Ingrid, have their 24th birthdays later in the month.
Jessica declined their invitation to celebrate with them.
On September 29, 2087, Sebastian Carlos Sanchez is born to second-time parents, Lisa and Carlos. After a quick and uneventful birth, mother and baby are healthy and resting at home.
Big brother Julian is feeling a tad jealous. But Lisa promises that there's plenty of love in this family to go around.

* The homeless encampment sounds like a really fun detail to build, but it doesn't make sense at all for my Fort Hollow neighborhood, all of which serves as a military base, deep in the mountains. We'll save that idea for another time and place.
In October, new mommy Aliyah celebrates her 27th birthday quietly at home with her sweet baby Sienna, who is 4 months old now.
Charlie Roseland thought his 23rd birthday would be mostly uneventful, but he got the greatest birthday wish he could have ever hoped for. Not dying!
In all of his short young adulthood, Charlie has played with a lot of fun and dangerous things—chemicals, blow torches, electrical circuits, explosives, Ingrid—but he's always prided himself on his instincts and good sense. He's never burnt down a house. Never been arrested. Never gotten so much as a burn or a scratch. Never had any trouble working fast, pushing through a few extra orders before his shift was over to get into his supervisor's good graces.
But one day his confidence finally got ahead of him. Two crossed wires and a spark of white hot electricity knocked him out cold.
He owes this happy birthday gift of a lifetime to his quick-thinking co-worker, Maya, who paid very close attention in her workplace safety training seminars. His heart had stopped for only a minute, and he can expect to recover almost fully.
With maybe a little lingering nerve damage and a healthy dose of caution.

Yey, thank you for the update! Started reading this blog (love it!) in December and so glad to see you're still posting. I've just started playing Sims 4, still trying to decide if I like it (always stuck to Sims 2 before now)!
ReplyDeleteHey, glad to hear from you! It's a struggle, but I usually manage to come back to posting eventually, lol! Little one is 15 months old now, so it should get easier from here. The holidays also had me swamped for a while.
DeleteTS4 is fun! Especially with all the packs and some good mods. It's still lacking some of the excellent gameplay TS2 had, but then, TS4 made some improvements that TS2 didn't have. If only we could combine them both! :)
Oh, Ian! You can't reject a girl like that on her birthday, even if are doing it while telling her she's too good for you! Poor Jessica!
ReplyDeleteHow sweet is Julian?! I really like the toddler/adult hug in Sims 4.
Whoa, close call, Charlie! Be careful, kid!
Ha ha, I couldn't even believe it when he turned her down! So unexpected. I cringed for the poor girl. Why are my sims so awkward? lol!
DeleteTS4 toddlers are the cutest! <3
Thanks for reading!
Poor Jessica! I know that’s a hard, embarrassing moment to try to get through.
ReplyDeleteAww, congratulations to Lisa and Carlos!
It will be interesting to see how the homeless encampment can make its way into your play.
Sienna is just so adorable!
Charlie is lucky that a co-worker was nearby and willing to talk with the grim reaper. A great birthday gift, lol!
When I added that homeless encampment roll, I was super eager for it to come up. But ugh, not for this neighborhood. I'd be glad to roll it again though.
DeleteSienna is lovely! And I just love how shrunken down toddlers look as infants, it makes me even sadder that they won't update our babies to have real skintones/eyes/hair/clothes. Sad forever!
Oh gosh, I know we were just talking about surprise deaths on Twitter not too long ago. And here I am thinking my TS4 sims practically never die. I don't know if I could have let Charlie go if Maya hadn't been there to help him. He and Natty never even got to have their wedding yet!
Thanks for reading!
