still the one, part 1

May 5, 2087. Dallas Deppiesse is 22. Lucy (Harris) Deppisse is 20.

wedding song: "Still The One," by Shania Twain

On a lovely spring day, at Little Southern Chapel in Fort Palmetto, South Carolina, officiated by Pastor Matthias Collins, long-time sweethearts Dallas Deppiesse and Lucy Harris will be wed.

Lucy prepared for her big day upstairs with her parents and daughter, Cassie.

While downstairs, Dallas was surrounded by his family.

Although, the aunties snuck upstairs occasionally to give Cassie a hug.

Guests began to arrive and chat in the church. The two large families brought together aunts, uncles, and cousins, as well as a large pack of old high school friends, many of whom knew each other and were excited to catch up.

Sarah's girlfriend looks like she's dreaming of a wedding of her own.

The guests quiet down as the wedding begins.

Here comes the bride.

Lucy wanted to walk herself down the aisle to her husband, following after their charming flower girl. She has since made up with her parents after a short falling-out over her unexpected pregnancy and ditching college, so she didn't feel it necessary to be "given away" on this special day. She has been living with Dallas and his family for nearly two years now.

Family and friends look on while the happy couple exchanges their vows.

The guests are roughly organized with the bride’s side on the right and the groom’s side on the left, but they have a lot of shared friends.

Right side, row 1: Lucy’s parents, Toby and Angela. Lucy’s sister, Sarah, and her girlfriend Raquel.
Right side, row 2: friends of Lucy: Alice & Jeremy, Justin & Stephanie.
Right side, row 3: high school friends of Lucy & Dallas: Beau & April, Tyler and his wife Maya.

Left side, row 1: Dallas’s uncle Cabe and aunt Ashley. Dallas’s mother, Violet.
Left side, row 2: Dallas’s cousin Natalia & her fiancĂ© Charlie. Dallas’s aunt Brooke and Uncle Phin.
Left side, row 3: Lucy’s cousin Melissa, Dallas’s friend from work Adonis. Lucy’s BFF from high school, Summer, and Summer’s little sister, Ryanne.

Exchange of rings.

The couple is pronounced husband and wife, sealing their love with a kiss.

Presenting, at long last, Mr. and Mrs. Dallas and Lucy Deppiesse.

Reception to follow.

Pretty spare on words, but I can never find much to narrate about at weddings, lol! There will be much more story to tell at the reception! ;)

  1. Agreed, weddings are hard to write about! I always feel like just dumping 60 odd pics up and saying "there, they're married", lol!

Anyway, this was adorable, as one would expect for such a cute couple! Cassie was such a little cutie toddling down the aisle like that! And when I was looking at these pictures, I wished I had that veil for TS2. I have some sims who I definitely would have/would use it on! It looked super pretty on Lucy.

    1. I know, right? I'm going to do exactly that for one of these weddings some day. Because really, why do we make this harder on ourselves? lol!

I love that veil, too, but as a piece of CC it causes me so much trouble in game. I think it's tagged badly or something. Now that Lucy has worn it, I might just take it out of my mods folder until it's been long enough to use it again on someone else.

    2. It's super easy to retag in Sims 4 Studio, if it ever starts to bug you too much! So many creators tag things to show up in every category and allow it for random on top of that. I finally got sick of it one weekend a couple of months back and went through all my CC and fixed anything odd. My CAS looks so much tidier now!

    3. Oh, that's a good idea. I should probably dedicate some time to fixing up my CC at some point. It's just, you know, a bit of a chore, lol!

  2. Lovely wedding and Lucy looks stunning! That veil is gorgeous and matches her dress perfectly, I guess it was worth the trouble. ;)
