it's your day: Madison

January 24, 2087. Madison Riley is 64.

Birthdays are just not as exciting after you reach a certain age, and Madison Riley is pretty sure she reached that certain age many birthdays ago. Being told that she looks incredible for a woman of sixty-four is no consolation, knowing that her charmed genetics will falter eventually—maybe even this year. She is not special. She has not discovered any fountain of youth.

In the first months of her official semi-retirement, Madison wishes for many things, but she asks for only one gift: a real house. She is tired of travel, tired of hotels, tired of luxury apartment suites with shared walls and busy city traffic. Luckily, Madison's real estate tycoon husband is happy to oblige her.

She longs to return home to the lakes again, on the shores of the deep cold blue waves where she was raised as a girl. So Bryson found her this sprawling estate on the shores of Brindleton Bay in Wisconsin. On the same great Lake Michigan of her girlhood, but the opposite side.

Madison is uncertain of what she'll do with her free time, knowing only that she doesn't intend to sit still for very long. She wants to keep busy with some of the hobbies she always envied not having time for, maybe painting or brewing her own wine. With no grandchildren to dote on and a daughter who literally flits all over the galaxy at a moment's notice, Madison has all the time in the world to try her hand at whatever strikes her fancy. Taking care of a sprawling estate sounds like a challenging project to tackle.

For now, though, the home needs a lot of renovations before they can move in. So this birthday and for the next couple of months, they'll spend some time at Bryson's resort in California.

Madison never says no to some pampering at the spa.

And she sneaks in a little romance with her hubby ... while they're still young enough that it can't kill them—what an awful rumor! She hopes that's not true!

Their daughter Keri finds time to join them for the weekend to celebrate. So, let the festivities begin!

Not bad looking for the old couple! Happy birthday, Madison (and belated birthday to Bryson)!

note: I actually had both Madison and Bryson aged up to elders in TS2 already, but made them as adults in TS4 for story reasons. And because TS4 elders just seem more frail to me than TS2 elders did. But they've stolen a bonus four years of youth already, so it's time for them to age up!

Upon their elder birthdays in my gameplay, they are both entitled to an achievement bonus for completed aspirations. But because they spent most of their life as TS2 sims, I'm going to award this based on their TS2 LTWs. Madison's was to become Mayor, and Bryson's was to become a Business Tycoon, which they both completed. So they both get a +1 in health points. (Bryson from 2* to 1*, Madison from +2 to +3.)

  1. Yikes, TS4 elders are MORE frail than TS2? I always feel like my sims age 25 years when I age them to elder, so I cannot imagine the TS4 elders!

Anyway, Madison and Bryson make cute elders! Glad Keri could join them and can't wait to see Madison tending to that new estate of theirs!

    1. Yeah, I think what makes TS4 elders more frail, besides looks even, is that they have age-related deaths available to them besides old-age. Exhaustion, for example. They can actually die if they exert themselves too much in sex or exercise. (I think highly athletic sims are exempt from this.) So it really makes you feel their fragility!

Thank you for reading! And sorry for the late reply, btw. I kind of fell into a hole for a bit. Sometimes you just gotta find a hole and crawl in for a month, lol!
